Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Jobwright provides software that HVAC, plumbing, and electrical businesses use to schedule jobs, dispatch technicians, and bill customers. In privacy terms, the shop that subscribes is the controller of the customer and job data it puts into Jobwright, and we act as its processor — we handle that data on the shop's behalf and under its instructions.
2. Information we collect
- Account information. When someone creates a workspace or is invited to one, we collect names, work email addresses, phone numbers, and role (owner, dispatcher, technician).
- Workspace data you enter. The records a shop creates in Jobwright — customers, service addresses, jobs, work orders, equipment history, quotes, and invoices. This often includes information about the shop's own customers.
- Payment information. Subscription billing and on-site payment collection are handled by our payment processor. We store the last four digits and card brand for reference — never full card numbers.
- Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and feature usage, which we use to run and improve the service.
- Location data. With a technician's permission, the mobile app shares approximate location during a shift so the board can calculate drive-time ETAs. It is not tracked off-shift.
3. How we use information
- To provide the dispatch console — scheduling, routing, work orders, quotes, and invoicing.
- To send transactional messages such as sign-in links, dispatch notifications, and receipts.
- To secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- To understand which features shops actually use so we can improve them. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. On-my-way texts and customer communications
A core feature of Jobwright is sending automated text messages to a shop's customers — appointment confirmations, on-my-way notifications, and review requests. The shop directs these messages and is responsible for having a lawful basis to contact its customers. We send them on the shop's behalf through our messaging subprocessor and include opt-out handling on every message.
5. Sharing and subprocessors
We share information only as needed to run Jobwright:
- Subprocessors that provide cloud hosting, messaging (SMS/email), payment processing, and error monitoring, each under contract to protect the data.
- Within a workspace, so a shop's own dispatchers and technicians can see the jobs and records they need to do their work.
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of people and the service.
We do not sell personal information to anyone.
6. Data retention
We keep workspace data for as long as a shop's account is active. After an account closes, we retain the data for up to 30 days so it can be restored or exported, then delete or de-identify it, except where we must keep records (for example, invoices for tax purposes) for longer.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Because much of the data in Jobwright belongs to a shop's workspace, requests about a shop's customers are directed to that shop as the controller. For account information we hold directly, contact us using the details below. Workspace owners can export their data to CSV at any time from Settings.
8. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, least-privilege access for our staff, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep Jobwright dependable enough to run a business on.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we'll post the new version here and update the date above, and for significant changes we'll notify workspace owners by email.
